Andy Muskrat

Andy Muskrat

Andy Muskrat serves as Associate Pastor of Music and Worship at First Baptist Church Waco in Waco, Texas. Andy was born in Joplin, Missouri, and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where his parents served as Baptist music missionaries with the International Mission Board. Growing up in Argentina, he (along with his twin sister, Amy, and older brother, Daniel) developed his passion for music. As a family, they led special worship services that involved singing, playing different instruments, and sharing the love of Christ through music and personal testimony. Andy’s mom, Nancy Muskrat, has published hymn arrangement books for solo piano with Genevox and Lillenas. It is without a doubt that Andy developed his passion for arranging music by following in his mom’s footsteps.

Andy has a Bachelor in Church Music with a piano emphasis from Baylor University (2005), and a Master of Arts and Worship from B.H. Carroll Theological Institute (2012). He is an accomplished pianist and singer, and enjoys music of all genres. His arrangements are geared more towards contemporary styles, but his love for classical music is the foundation of his writing and performing.

Andy and his wife, Heather, have served in churches in Bentonville, Arkansas, and throughout Texas (Cedar Hill, Irving, Spring, Waco). Heather is an accomplished pianist and piano teacher, and has served with Andy in the ministry through singing on the praise team and the choir, as church pianist, and by leading children’s choirs. The Lord has blessed them with four children: Jacob, Braeden, Jamie, and Helen.
