Joey Hoelscher

Joey Hoelscher, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, holds a Bachelor of Music in voice performance from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he is currently a graduate assistant in the Division of Music teaching undergraduate theory and private voice while pursuing a master's degree in composition and voice. Prior to beginning graduate studies, he traveled for three years as a singer, composer, bass player, and sound engineer with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team. The wide range of experiences in this itinerant local church ministry gave him insight into local church music needs, which influences his compositional style.

Joey studied composition with Joan Pinkston and Dan Forrest. Winner of the 2012 Indianapolis Symphonic Choir Commission Competition, a member of ASCAP, and a commissioned composer, Joey's sacred choral and instrumental works can be found in the catalogs of several church music publishers.
