Robert Lau

Robert Lau (b. 1943) holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College, a Master of Arts in Music Theory from the Eastman School of Music, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology from The Catholic University of America. He has done additional graduate work at Teachers' College of Columbia University and Westminster Choir College.

Dr. Lau is Professor Emeritus of Music at Lebanon Valley College where he taught for 21 years, chairing the Music Department for eleven years.  He has been awarded the Creative Achievement Award and an Alumni Citation by the college. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Penn State Harrisburg for 20 years.

Robert Lau has more than 600 choral and keyboard works published by the leading church music publishing companies in the United States. He has been commissioned to write choral and keyboard works for a variety of churches, individuals and institutions. For his work in published choral and keyboard music he has been awarded 15 Special Awards by ASCAP.

Dr. Lau presents workshops and clinics on a variety of topics for churches and organizations throughout the United States.  He is a member of the Harrisburg Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
