Stephen L. Lawrence, Instructional Supervisor of Music for the Omaha Public Schools, is an educator, composer, and clinician. His educational preparation includes a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in clarinet performance from the University of Nebraska/Lincoln, a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Iowa, and a Certification in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Dr. Lawrence has been associated with the Omaha Public Schools for the past twenty‑eight years, including ten years as music instructor at Harry A. Burke High School. In his current position as Instructional Supervisor, he oversees the instrumental music staff in Omaha's seven high schools, nine middle schools, and sixty elementary schools. He has conducted the choir program at Bethel Lutheran Church in Omaha for over two decades.

As a composer, Dr. Lawrence has had over 100 choral and instrumental works published by Lorenz, Alfred, Warner Brothers, Hal Leonard, Shawnee Press, and Kendor Music Publishers. He has also written music for international television and radio commercials. Frequently, he serves as an adjudicator and clinician for contests and festivals in the Midwest. In addition to his musical interests, Dr. Lawrence writes computer software and in 1994 won first place in the International ClarisWorks Database Template Competition.
